What is Cequis™?Cequis™ is a strategy board game played on hexagon grid game board, seven columns wide, and each column is eight or seven hexagon spaces in depth, where the first, third, fifth, and seventh columns contain eight hexagon spaces, and columns two, four, and six contain seven. The main game of Cequis is played between two players, each with a set of nine pieces that are colour coded into groups of threes. Taking alternate turns, each player moves their pieces, either individually or in groups, with the goal of surrounding an opponent’s piece on four or more sides of the hexagon it occupies. If at anytime during game play a piece is surrounded on four or more sides, it’s removed from play, and game play continues until a player has only three pieces left, at which point the other player wins since the player with three pieces can no longer surround the other player’s pieces with four of their own.
Cequis is a unique game among other strategy games in that a player is able to move an opponent’s pieces through the tactic of, “Creating a Sequence.”
The Cequis game set is also unique in its generic nature, which allows other great games of varying difficulty levels, from kids to adults, to be created and played without having to purchase any further materials. Read about the History of Cequis.
